How China’s provinces (and U.S. states) compares to countries around the world in GDP

Just read an interesting article in the Economist that I wanted to share.  As you may or may not know, China has surpassed Japan as the world second largest economy in recent months.  China is so big that most of its provinces could match up against countries around the world in GDP.  Here’s a map:
